Kids are giving up their candy for cash. Local dentist Dr. Lisa Wilson is bribing kids to give up their candy. For every pound donated the kids received one dollar. Dr. Wilson says it’s a way she can keep kids teeth healthy.
“We see a lot of children in our practice we don’t like to see cavities in their mouths and so we felt like if we got the candy out of their hands we’d have less sugar consumption which will help with children all the way around,” says Dr. Lisa Wilson.
And the kids who attended didn’t mind cashing in.
“I think 2 dollars is better than a bunch of cavities, a bunch of cavities hurt and two dollars buys stuff,” says 10 year old Brandon Beers.
If you would like to donate your candy Dr. Wilson will be collecting Monday November 2nd at her office 5470 Caldwell Mill Road. All the candy collected will be sent to troops over seas.
