New Covenant Fellowship Church which is located at 5050 Pinson Valley Parkway in Birmingham is hosting a Bunco benefit for The Lovelady Center, which helps homeless, addicted, and abused women and their children transform their lives. The event will feature dinner, dessert, Bunco and door prizes. Tickets are fifteen dollars each.

The following description came from event organizer Lisa Underwood:

"From Bingo to Bunco - an alternative and innovative way to raise money for the Lovelady Center.

On Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 5:30 p.m., the Women’s Ministry of New Covenant Fellowship will be hosting a Bunco Benefit for the Lovelady Center, which is located in Birmingham, Alabama.  This center is “home” to more than 300 women, plus their children, as they participate in  transitional programs, which can take up to 12 months.  It offers shelter for homeless women and children, safety from abuse, freedom from drug and alcohol dependency and is often a “court ordered” alternative to a prison sentence.

Tickets are $15.00 per person and include dinner, dessert, Bunco, door prize opportunities and a play-off for the 4 participants with the highest scores.  These 4 individuals will be playing for a 54 inch strand of white fresh-water pearls donated by Diamonds Direct, Birmingham;  2 day passes donated by Alabama Adventure for 2010;   a Sony DVD player donated by Enterprise Rent A Car;  and, a $100.00 gift certificate for cleaning donated by Sanitary Rug Cleaners in Trussville.

A Bonus Door Prize is a Lorenzo ring with 18K trim and silver band donated by M&M Jewelers located in the Shops at the Colonnade.  This will be a completely separate door prize drawing.

Other door prizes include free golf passes, restaurant gift certificates, jewelry, purses, and many other items."
