JASPER, Ala. (WIAT) - This is one of the busiest month's for bridal shops ... and owners say they expect the improving economy to result in bigger budgets.
Two and a half million brides will walk down the isle this year, however, putting a pricetag on the big day can be difficult. The average cost of a wedding is between 21 and 24 thousand dollars.
Jasper bridal shop owner Diane Cheatham says the average dress is 12 to 15-hundred dollars. She says brides are starting to spend more again, "Budgets a little bit up from the last couple of years with a rebound economy ... bridal parties a little bit bigger."
