MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WIAT) - Governor Bentley maintains his stance against illegal bingo.  On Wednesday, state agents raided the Greenetrack and Frontier bingo casinos in Greene County.

More than than 700 machines were taken.

Owners of the facilities insist they're following the law and using legal machines, but the governor disagrees and applauds Attorney General Luther Strange's decision to close down the bingo halls.

Attorney General Strange says the raid happened because Greenetrack never allowed his office to test the machines to see if they were legal.  He says his only alternative was to take them.
