Every year 4000 teens die because of distracted driving, and Allstate is trying to lower that number by teaching teens to be safe.

“Teens go through this course today and they hit cones which could be a person in real life if the yare on the road way so hopefully they learn to be safer today,” says John Heid, with Allstate.

Along with teens driving through a course, there are also people in the back seat talking to them, the music is playing loud and they are using the phone. Organizers say this teaches kids just how deadly it can be to be distracted behind the wheel of the car.

You will be 23-percent safer on the roadway if you don’t text and talk on the phone. For more on this class, click the video link. To sign your family up for the no texting pledge, click on the web link.
