We all know how annoying spam can be in your mailbox. If you live in Alabama, you get a lot of it. In fact, Alabama is the second most spammed state in the U.S.
According to a new report out of UAB, over 99 percent of emails received on Alabama computers are spam! Experts say it's because of Alabama's metropolitan makeup and the size of our businesses.
"Alabama has a disproportionately large number of small businesses and so our speculation is that because we have so many small businesses in Alabama with small IT shops, they're not doing some of the most aggressive forms of IT security," says Computer Forensics expert Gary Warner.
Warner encourages computer users to contact internet providers to ensure personal accounts are protected. In case you were wondering, the only state that gets more span than we do is Idaho.
