A family is celebrating a birthday this weekend. Unfortunately, the person who is being celebrated isn't with her family to rejoice in her 25th Birthday. It was 20 months ago that Nadia Kersh vanished. The family explained to CBS 42 how very difficult it is to wake up every day, see her pictures in the house, and know that she won't be there.

Her younger brother describes her as a sister who was loving and was always there for him. He says she always played with him and did anything he ever needed. He remembers the good days with Nadia, the happy days before she disappeared.

The family made an interesting decision as to how to celebrate her 25th birthday. They all gathered together at Vulcan Park, the highest place in the Birmingham area. They released 25 balloons not only in honor of Nadia, but with information about her in case someone were to recognize her. By releasing the balloons at such a high place, they hoped they would travel farther and be read seen and read by many different people.

The family continues to hold on to the chance that Nadia could be alive although a man sits in jail at this very hour accused of the murder of Nadia Kersh. The family has vowed not to give up the search for Nadia and to do whatever it takes to bring her home.
