Press Release from Alabama Department of Industrial Relations.

MONTGOMERY – Alabama Department of Industrial Relations Director Tom Surtees today reminded Alabamians who received unemployment compensation benefits over the past year that they can view and print the documentation needed for filing federal income tax returns from DIR’s website. Claimants can access the Form 1099 -G online at www.dir.alabama.gov.
“We hope that by allowing Alabamians more convenient access to necessary documentation, we can make filing a little easier on them,” said Surtees. “Claimants should note that if they access their form online, no forms will be mailed to them, so they should print them for their records.”
These forms are password protected and must be accessed with a claimant’s Social Security number. Claimants without internet access will have their forms mailed to them by January 31, 2012.
