Tetanus Clinic for Tornado Volunteers

TRUSSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) - With storm debris scattered across the area the likelihood of a person being cut or scraped by metal or sharp objects is high.

That's why it's important for people to protect themselves.  One way to do that is by getting a tetanus shot.

The Jefferson County Department of Health held a vaccination clinic Thursday in Trussville for those 19 years old and older.

The department has been crisscrossing the area hoping to administer as many tetanus shots as possible to disaster workers, volunteers and people who live in the area.

If you're volunteering and don't know when you had your last tetanus shot you are advised to get one.
