Unions host Labor Day Picnic

Labor Day started as a tribute to the labor movement, so what could be more "Labor Day" than a union picnic.  Here's the info:

WORKERS CELEBRATE LABOR DAY
AT TANNEHILL IRONWORKS HISTORICAL STATE PARK



What: The Central Alabama Labor Federation, the AFL-CIO and the United Mine Workers will host a free picnic for labor union members and their families this Labor Day. The event will include free barbecue, family entertainment and visits from elected officials. Organizers expect 2,000-3,000 workers to attend.

When: noon-4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6

Where: Farley Field, Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park 12632 Confederate Parkway, McCalla, Alabama 35111

Who: Hosted by the Central Alabama Labor Federation, the AFL-CIO and
the United Mine Workers
