BIRMINGHAM, ALa. (WIAT) -
The Lovelady Center is known for changing the lives of women in need of help and hope.
Brenda Lovelady Spahn is the founder of The Lovelady Center. A place that's been nothing but a faith walk since this mother and wife set out to help meet the spiritual needs of women inmates in 2004. She began helping them in the prison, then her in her home, then their current facility on Birmingham's East Side, which houses nearly 400 women and children.
When CBS42's Sherri Jackson sat down to talk with Brenda, it was clear there was no getting out of this mission that's become her lifes work, her faith put in action to help others.
That love is why, despite some opposition, she is perservering to move The Lovelady Center from it's current location. To the old Carraway Hospital campus in North Birmingham.
They bought the property and that's how she's putting her faith in action to continue helping women find hope and healing at The Lovelady Center.
