Shelby County Schools Go Pink

SHELBY CO., Ala. (WIAT) - Only one day remains before downtown Birmingham is covered in a sea of pink.  16,000 runners and even more spectators are expected be on hand at Saturday's "Race for the Cure."

It starts Saturday morning at 9am, at Linn Park.

In Shelby County, communities turned pink for breast cancer awareness.  Students took part in their own walk for the cure.  It was all an effort to raise money for breast cancer research.
