It's time for the 4th annual Man Month on CBS 42! Win the manliest of manly prizes, HDTVs! 24 winners will win a 42 inch high definition television by watching CBS 42 News at 10pm from October 29th-November 25th. To make the prizes even more manly, at the end of the contest one of these 24 winners will also win an 50" HDTV and a years worth of service from DIRECTV. It is not suggested to stack the TVs on top of each other after you win them both, but that would be very manly.
It should be noted that women can also win Man Month prizes. Below are the official rules for the contest!
OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
1. No purchase is necessary.
2. You must be at least nineteen (19) years old and a legal resident of Alabama at the time of entry to win.
3. This contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws. Void where prohibited by law. By entering, participants agree to these Official Rules.
4. Twenty four (24) daily winners. One (1) grand prize winner.
5. Participants may enter as often as they wish.
6. Contest begins on October 29, 2009, and ends on November 25th, 2009.
7. The geographic scope of this promotion is the state of Alabama. The Sponsor of this Contest is New Vision Television, LLC., d/b/a WIAT-TV (“WIAT”).
8. The odds of being a Daily Prize Winner are based upon the number of calls received during the contest period. For the grand prizes, the odds of being a prize winner are based on the number of eligible entries received by WIAT-TV
PRIZES
9. Description of prizes:
•Twenty four (24) Daily Prize Winners will receive: A forty two (42) inch high definition television
Value $400.00
•One (1) grand prize winner will receive: A fifty (50) inch high definition
Television and one year's worth of service from DIRECTV
Value $1000,00
10. All federal, state and other taxes relating to any prize, and any travel, hotel accommodations or other expenses relating to any prize, are the sole responsibility of the winners.
11. Prizes are not transferable, substitutable, or exchangeable for cash except that WIAT-TV in its discretion may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Any such changes will be announced. If any of the winners fail to meet any eligibility requirement herein, alternate winners will be chosen. Alternate winners are subject to all eligibility requirements and restrictions of these Official Rules.
The high Definition television sets will be available for pick-up at the end of the contest period. Winners will be notified as to where they may pick up their HDTV.
If prizes are not picked up by close of business on December 15th, 2009, they are forfeit.
ELIGIBILITY

13. A Winner must be at least nineteen (19) years old and a legal resident of Alabama at the time of entry.
14. Employees of New Vision Television, LLC., d/b/a WIAT-TV and of the affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors, suppliers, franchisees, promoters, and agents of any of these, and the immediate families of the employees of any of these, are not eligible.
TO ENTER
15. Beginning October 29, 2009 and ending November 25th, 2009, watch CBS 42 News at 10pm Monday through Friday and at 10pm on Sunday. During those programs, a commercial will air prompting viewers to call the number on the screen. The 15th caller during each 10pm newscast will win a forty two (42) inch HDTV.
All HDTV winners automatically qualify for the grand prize drawing.
16. All HDTV television winners will be entered into the grand prize drawing.
All entries received will be placed into a random drawing conducted by WIAT which will be held the week of November 30th, 2009. Two finalist names will be drawn at random. The first contestant name drawn is the winner. The winner will be contacted on the same day as the drawing. If the winner can not be reached, messages (if possible) will be left for the winner. After three (3) days, if the winner does not contact WIAT-TV to claim their prize, the alternate winner will be chosen as winner and contacted. The above rules will apply to the alternate winner as well. If the alternate winner also can not be reached after three days, another name will be drawn at random.
17. If your submission is picked as a winner, WIAT will verify your information over the telephone at the time and you will be asked to come to WIAT, 2075 Golden Crest Drive, Birmingham, AL 35209, where each winner must provide WIAT valid identification and execute an affidavit of eligibility. Identification includes a valid driver’s license or other valid picture ID showing name and address of winners. Faxes will not be accepted. The winner may also be required to sign other legal documents, including tax forms and a release supplied by WIAT, which, among other disclaimers, releases WIAT, New Vision Television, LLC., and a range of subsidiaries, directors, agents, agencies, affiliates, franchisees, promoters, officers, directors, employees and related persons from any and all liability related to this Contest and the receipt and use of the prize.
18. WIAT, New Vision Television, LLC., their affiliates, subsidiaries or agencies will not be responsible for the inability to select winners because of postal failure, equipment failure, or data storage failure.
MISCELLANEOUS
19. All federal, state and local laws apply. Sponsors shall be entitled to interpret these rules as needed — including but not limited to rules regarding entries, selection of winner, deadlines, restrictions on prizes, and eligibility — and all of their decisions are final. By entering, participants agree to these Official Rules. WIAT reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend this Contest or any part of this Contest should any non-authorized intervention, network failure, information storage failure, telecommunications failure, malfunction, or other causes beyond its control, corrupt or impair the security, administration, fairness and/or operation of this Contest as determined by WIAT in its sole discretion. WIAT and New Vision Television, LLC., are not responsible for any failed telephone, or errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical, or electronic, or for entries that for any reason are not received by WIAT by the deadline stated above.

23. Any person attempting to defraud or tamper with this Contest in any way will be ineligible for prizes and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
