Rick Jackson
Morning Reporter
Rick can be found here, there, and EVERYWHERE delivering his reports bright and early on Wake Up Alabama. He comes to CBS 42 from the All-American city of Tupelo, Mississippi where he worked for the NBC and Fox affiliates as a general assignment reporter. His most memorable stories include Barack Obama's campaigning visit to north Mississippi and an accidental lake drainage by the USDA that left thousands of fish to rot in the center of a main commercial area.
Rick is a graduate of Auburn University (Waaaar Eagle!) and a proud member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Incorporated. He's a native of Montgomery, Alabama and describes his move to The Magic City as "his home away from home." Being raised to fully serve God, Rick remains active with the youth group at Moore's Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Sellers, Alabama.
In his spare time, he enjoys writing, traveling, critiquing movies and being in the comfort of family and friends. Rick stands firm on his personal motto, "It's not my goal to impress you, but to leave an impression on you."
