Phillip Ohnemus
Reporter

Phillip Ohnemus has worked as an essential cog with CBS 42 as a one-man-band, off camera reporter, for more than five years.

Phillip brings an energetic style to his stories as he continues to develop as a journalist. Some of his larger stories to date include the Richard Scrushy and Don Siegelman trials, the manhunt for convicted felon Dedrick Griham after his abduction of a Birmingham attorney, and his subsequent escape from jail, and the Hoover football grades scandal. Phillip was also one of the first journalists on the scene following the triple murder of three Birmingham West Precinct officers in 2004. Phillip is also a fixture each Tuesday at Birmingham City Council meetings.

Phillip resides in Shelby County with his wife Amanda. In his free time Phillip enjoys reading, traveling, and working on his Masters Degree.

In March 2010, Phillip was chosen as "Reporter of the Year" by the Alabama Broadcasters Association. Here are the stories he submitted for that award:

Tuscaloosa County Flooding

Wylam Graffiti

Parrish Police and US Marshalls Target Drugs
