Cynthia Gould

Cynthia Gould anchors CBS 42 news Sunday at 5:30 and 10pm. She also serves as Executive Producer of Special Projects. Her recent work on the CBS 42 documentary “Poison in the Air” has won several awards including the distinguished Edward R. Murrow award.
Other special reports include a look at Jefferson County's "Culture of Corruption," an update on the Natalee Holloway case in our "Return to Aruba" reports, an examination of children's issues in "Gun Safety" and "Stranger at the Door," and a creepy look at a science center called the "Body Farm."
Cynthia was born in Florida, but after living in Alabama for more than a decade this is home. Before joining the CBS 42 news team, Cynthia spent twelve years at the local FOX affiliate covering everything from severe weather to politics at City Hall. Cynthia was a weekend anchor, reporter, producer and managing editor.
Cynthia got her start in news in Panama City, Florida, where she was as an anchor, reporter and producer. She received numerous awards for her investigative and medical reporting.
As a member of the Birmingham Division of Youth Services "Dream Team," Cynthia enjoys volunteering for a number of projects in the community geared toward helping children. She has four children of her own and a greyhound.
The family loves sports and always counts down the days until the start of college football!
