Customers can expect to see a dramatic increase in their electric bills this fall. The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) has anticipating a rate increase that will effect seven states across the southern region.
More than 8 million customers in Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia will be effected by the adjustment charge. In addition to this rate increase, TVA Directors will also consider a new annual budget that could raise base rates as well.
The hike is expected to be around 10% to 20% and will take effect on October first.
