Cynthia Gould anchors CBS 42 News at Five with Sherri Jackson. She also reports the weekly Positive Parenting segments on Wake Up Alabama. Those stories tackle a wide range of issues that parents and their kids care about from health and wellness to safety and education.
From severe weather to politics at city hall, Cynthia has spent the past 12 years covering some of the area’s biggest news stories. She worked at WBRC-TV in Birmingham as a weekend anchor, reporter, producer and managing editor for more than a decade.
Cynthia got her start in news in Panama City, Florida, where she worked as an anchor, reporter and producer. She received numerous awards for her investigative reporting and medical features.
Cynthia is a member of the Birmingham Division of Youth Services Dream Team and enjoys volunteering for a number of projects in the community geared toward helping children. She has four children of her own with one in college!
